How to get your child tested

The following guidelines apply if your child is to be tested at one of the testcentres shown on the map at Coronasmitte.dk.

For Danish citizens (with CPR-number and NemID/MitID)

Age restrictions for citizens

  • PCR testing of children aged 2-14: For children aged 2-14, you can, as a custodian, book an appointment for your child on coronaprover.dk using your NemID or MitID. Be aware that age-restrictions may vary. On the map, you can see what age restrictions apply at the different testcentres.
  • PCR testing of children under the age of 2: If your child is under age 2, you must always contact your doctor for a test referral. You can only book a test for children under age 2, if you have contacted your child’s doctor and the doctor has written a referral.

Testing children for covid-19 requires consent from a custodian

Testing children under the age of 15 requires consent from the child’s custodian. Your options regarding how to give consent are described in the following.

For children aged 2-14, you can, as a custodian, book an appointment for your child at coronaprover.dk using your NemID or MitID. When you book an appointment for your child, you have automatically consent to have your child tested.

Consent when testing children without an appointment

In most cases, you have to book an appointment to get a PCR-test.

You can give consent to have your child tested without an appointment by doing one of the following:

1. Bringing your child to the testcentre and give consent verbally
2. Giving consent over the phone when your child is about to be tested

  • The minimum age for PCR-tests for children is 2 years. Please note that some testcentres have different age-restrictions. You can find information about age restrictions when clicking on the individual testcentre on the map.
  • PCR testing of children under the age of 2: If your child is under age 2, you must always contact a doctor for a test referral prior to the test.

Testing children for covid-19 requires consent
