Entry into Denmark

Various rules apply to travels to Denmark depending on how you arrive in Denmark and your ties with or your purpose of entering Denmark.

Danish nationals and foreigners who are habitually resident in or hold a valid residence permit for Denmark can always enter Denmark regardless of their purpose. Foreigners who are not habitually resident in or do not hold a valid residence permit for Denmark must have a worthy purpose to enter Denmark and must present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 24 hours before entry. There are a few exemptions, and special rules apply, including to foreigners resident in a border region.

Travellers, including Danish nationals and foreigners habitually resident in Denmark, must present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 24 hours before they board a plane for Denmark.

Generally, everyone who wants to enter Denmark must take a test and subsequently isolate themselves for ten days. Read more about the rules and exemptions below.
